He left this life to go meet Jesus on Oct. 20, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona. Ed lived his first 12 years in West Virginia, running through the hills hunting, fishing and learning to farm from his father. Ed moved, along with his family, to Prescott, Arizona, in the early 1940s, where he first worked in his Uncle John’s market on Cortez Street. In 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Ed loved his job and his adventures in the Navy. He served under Admiral W.S. De Lany as a Boatswain’s Mate. After returning to Prescott, he met Patsy Nadine Rowley, whom he married. Ed and Pat welcomed their daughter, Cheryl, and son Mark, as Ed began his 29 year career working for the City of Prescott. Ed’s title at retirement was Supervisor of Streets and Utilities. Ed was a member of The Potter’s House Ministries for 43 years. Our dad instilled in us a love for God, Patriotism for country, and a need to be in the great outdoors. Every member of his family is a better human, for being touched by this kind, generous, gentle man. Ed was predeceased by his parents; wife of 43 years, Pat; and brothers Carl and Ray. He is survived by his children Cheryl Espitia (Art), and Mark Pauley Sr. Brother Charles (Nancy); Sister Beulah Poley (Bob); Grandchildren Mark Pauley Jr. (Alysia), Jodi Merrill, Patrick Gremillion (Tiffini), Meghan Pauley (Matt), William Gremillion (Victoria), Justin Pauley (Larissa), and Jason Gremillion (Kami). Great grandchildren Kendra, Tyler, Aden, Sofia, Madison, Carly, Ava, Caidence, Toyia, and Nova. Two others will be joining us in February. He also left several loving nieces and nephews; his Aunt Margaret Pauley; cousins; and many dear friends far and wide. Susan Nahee and Gerry Gremillion are the parents of some of Ed’s grandchildren, and remained lifelong friends. Memorial services will be on Nov. 5, at The Potters House, Prescott. Military Honors will begin promptly at 11 a.m., outside, followed by chapel service. Hampton Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors. |
