| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, October 27, 2016, page 7a Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend - Lucy Nez Baker was born April 15, in a hogan in Cornfields, Arizona to Dudley and Effie Nez. She left us to be with the Lord on October 22, 2016 here in Prescott, Arizona. Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred Baker; brother Willard Nez; children Kathy (Richard) Wilde, Terry (Tara) Baker, Fred P. Baker, Brian (Nancy) Baker and Dihyan (Mike) Pierce; she was extremely proud of her 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; she also was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who she loved as her own. Lucy was a native of Arizona and lived in Winslow, Phoenix, Page and finally spent her last 42 years as a resident of Prescott. She worked at the Prescott Unified School District for 25 years. She retired from the P.U.S.D. in 2004 and enjoyed her retirement watching her grandkids play baseball, softball and rodeo. She was also known for her famous Navajo Tacos and shopping in her little red cart. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Hillside Church of God, 937 Ruth St., Prescott, AZ 86301. Information provided by survivors. |
