| Weekly Arizona Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, July 20, 1904, page 8, column 4 Little Joe Gilmore, the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gilmore died Tuesday morning after an illness of a few weeks with tuberculosis of the stomach and bowels. He was not quite eight years old and was an exceptionally bright boy a favorite with all who knew him. His death will be greatly felt by Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore who were as devoted to him as though he had been their own flesh and blood. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends of the bereaved couple. -------------------------------------- Arizona Daily Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, July 20, 1904 The funeral of the late Little Joey B. Gilmore took place yesterday from the Baptist church. The church was well filled with friends of the family. The services were conducted by Rev. Taft and Rev. Father Bennett. Beautiful floral offerings decorated the casket, some of them being offered by the printing fraternity of the city. Many friends and admirers of the departed little boy sorrowfully followed his remains to the burial ground.
