Marilyn Francis Craig of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away
August 20, 2016 at the age of 76. She was born to Elmer and Mary
(Westenmeyer) Schmidt in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 29, 1940.
Marilyn married her true love, John Craig, at St. Rita's Catholic
Church of West Allis, Wisconsin on April 30, 1960. They moved to the
small community of Parker Dam, California in 1963 where they raised
four children, and later moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1984.
She retired from the United States Postal Service after many years
of loyal service as a postal clerk.
Despite her small size and various illnesses, Marilyn was a strong
woman that took part in many projects over the years; both large and
small, from helping to build their home in Prescott, Arizona to a
variety of craft projects. More recently Marilyn enjoyed quilting,
crocheting, reading books, TV movies, crossword and jigsaw puzzles,
and playing cards and dominoes. She was also a member of the Havasu
Stitchers Quilt Guild.
She is survived by her loving husband; John Craig, her son; Jeffrey
(Kelly) Craig, her daughters; Julie (Rodney) Rebello, Jacque Craig
and Jill (Michael) Burroughs, her grandchildren; Jeffrey Craig Jr.,
Jillia (Cody) Mesick, Jeffrey Roberts and Eric (Julia) Rebello, as
well as one great-grandchild; Cambrie Anne Mesick, her brothers;
Raymond Schmidt and Robert (Kathleen) Schmidt, her sisters; Ruth
Wasmer, Phyllis (Joe) Baillargeon, and Margaret (Wayne) Soczka.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; Elmer and Mary Schmidt
and two brothers; George and Eugene Schmidt.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:30am
at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Drive,
Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in
Marilyn's honor to the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona, 360
East Coronado Road, Suite #180, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
