Margaret Rose Rowland, 66, passed away unexpectedly from a recent
illness on Sept 20, 2016.

She was born July 17, 1950 in Hanover, Pa., to Richard James
Breighner and Ethel Caroline Shorb.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, John E. “Jack”
Rowland, Jr.

She married John E. “J.R.” Rowland, Sr. in Hanover, Pa., Aug. 4,
1973.

Margaret was an inspirational example of love, selflessness,
service, and joy. She utilized these skills throughout her 40 years
in the healthcare industry. She always put others’ needs before her
own and always was a friend to a stranger. She thought service was
more important than anything else.

She read scriptures almost daily and received insight and
inspiration from it. She learned the power of prayer and exercised
it. She always knew there was a celestial home and now she is there.
We will miss her but we will see her again as will her many friends.
She had a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh. She was
loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband John E. “J.R.” Rowland, Sr. of St.
George, Utah, formerly of Lake Havasu City, children Michele and
Richard Armstrong of Centerville, Texas, Michael and Jill Rowland of
Oak Grove, Mo., Rebecca and Matthew Webb of Las Vegas, and Victoria
and Justin McHenry of San Antonio, Texas, eight grandchildren,
sister Mary Breighner of Duncannon, Pa., second cousin Anna Kuhn of
Gettysburg, Pa., and various nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is Sept. 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints, 259 North Mall Dr., St. George at 11 a.m., with a
brief viewing starting at 9:30 a.m.

Visitation is Sept. 25 at Metcalf Mortuary in St. George from 6 to 8
p.m.

Interment and a brief memorial will be at the gravesite in Lake
Havasu Memorial Gardens in Lake Havasu City, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.
This service is open to the public.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-
673-4221.
