Hirzsiefen-Fischlein, 81, formerly of Davenport, Iowa died Sept. 24, 2016 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after a full life. Nancy was born in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Ester and Victor Hirzsiefen. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Davenport, Iowa. She worked as a telephone operator in Davenport. On Nov. 12, 1955 she married Robert L. Fischlein; they were happily married 60 years. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Michigan. Nancy was a bank teller in Michigan and a Realtor in Schaumburg, Ill. They relocated to Westminster, Colo., in 1979 and lived there for 13 years. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Lake Havasu City in 1992. Nancy supported the Best Friends organization – a national no-kill pet sanctuary for homeless pets. Nancy also volunteered at the Western Arizona Humane Society. Nancy was happiest talking on the telephone with family and friends. She loved gathering with friends for card games and dessert. She is survived by her husband, Robert Fischlein, daughter Pam and husband Chuck Fitts of Reno, Nev., daughter Judy and husband Alex VanAcker of Canon City, Colo., son Tom Fischlein of Canon City, Colo., 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also, very importantly, her beloved cousin Marilyn Jurgersen. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ester and Victor Hirzsiefen. A memorial service will be in Lake Havasu City at a later date. |
