George Mark Calleja, 81, of Lake Havasu City passed away Sept. 28,
2016.

He was born to Emanuel and Agnes (Dovorsky) Calleja in New York City
on Oct. 11, 1934.

George served his country in the United States Army and then
continued his service in the National Guard. He met Mary Simon and
they shared 56 years of marriage and raised five boys together. He
was hard working and successfully self-employed as a painting
contractor for almost 60 years. Additionally, he was referee and
judge for Olympic boxing and was a coach for soccer, baseball and
football.

Practical jokes were a passion for George; he would go to great
lengths to pull off a good gag. He loved a good deal and enjoyed
garage sales. He liked going to the casino with his wife and sons
and loved to garden and make things grow. He truly lived life to the
fullest.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Agnes
Calleja.

He is survived by his wife Mary Calleja of Lake Havasu City, sons
Mark (Becky) Calleja of Golden Valley, Tom (Deb) Calleja of Santa
Rosa, Calif., Chris Calleja of Sacramento, Calif., Jerry (Anissa)
Calleja of Sonoma, Calif., Bill (Karen) Calleja of Corona, Calif.,
his brother John and sisters Betty and Carol of Washington; as well
as 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation is set for 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7 at Lietz-Fraze
Funeral Home.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
