Buckeye resident is killed
A Phoenix motorcyclist and a man from Buckeye were killed Thursday night in traffic accidents.
The Buckeye resident was identified as Davis [sic: David} Lynn Ahrens, 24 of 3314 E. Thunderbird. Phoenix police said he was riding west on Thunderbird near 34th Street when he collided head-on with an eastbound car driven by Randy Lynn Boyd, 20, of 13433 N. 42nd St. Ahrens, who wore a helmet, was thrown over the top of Boyd's car. He was pronounced dead at John C. Lincoln Hospital.

Services for David Lynn Ahrens, 24, of 3314 E. Thunderbird, will be at noon Monday at Universal Memorial Center, 1100 E. Jefferson. Mr. Ahrens was pronounced dead Friday at John C. Lincoln Hospital after he was involved in a car accident at 34th Street and Thunderbird. He was the assistant manager of the produce department at Smitty's on 35th Avenue and Peoria.
Survivors include his wife Claudia; children, Tonya, David Jr., Andria and Ben; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ahrens; three brothers and five sisters; and three grandparents.
