Harvey D. Taylor, Jr.

Harvey D. Taylor, Jr., 60, passed away peacefully at the University
of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. Sept. 20, 2016.

Harvey was born Dec. 20, 1955 to Harvey D. Taylor, Sr. and Alma
Taylor in Los Angeles.

At age 12, Harvey accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior under the
guidance of his father and pastor at the Progressive Baptist Church
in Los Angeles.

He graduated from Dominquez High School in Compton, Calif., where he
played football, and joined the U.S. Army after graduation. Harvey
pursued several professions, but always came back to his love of
trucks. He became owner/operator of his trucking company, H&P
Logistics, LLC in 2011. He always said that driving trucks made him
the happiest. He loved music, was a talented singer, and devoted
time to singing in church and with friends in local bands.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia Taylor of Lake
Havasu City, daughter Michelle (Murphy) Duckett of Oxnard, Calif.,
son Dennis (Kisha) Taylor of Long Beach, Calif., son Steven Taylor
of Phoenix, daughter Tangella Boyd of White Plains, N.Y., step-
daughter Alison Knight of Tucson, sister Doretha (Andrew) Paddock of
Yuma, niece Kristina Adams of Phoenix, nephew Anthony (Teri) Bolton
of Eunice, N.M.; also a great-niece, a great-nephew, a great-great-
nephew and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Andre in 2006
and his son Valance in 2016.

A memorial service is Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church, 1535 El Camino Drive, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
