| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Saturday, October 22, 2016 <<< Richard “Dick” Batson passed away Oct. 14, 2016. One thing in life that is very valuable is having friends. Dick moved to Oxnard, Calif., many years ago where he met up with his special friend Barbara. They met at the Channel Island Yacht Club where they were active members. Then he and a few friends moved to Lake Havasu City. Here he made more friends as he shagged cars for Anderson’s, Bradley and Paradise. On Fridays, Dick liked to bring donuts to Lowe’s where he worked part-time and made lots of new friends. He also became an active member of the London Bridge Yacht Club. There he was able to do a lot of boating activities. You could always catch up with him at the Eagles where he enjoyed eating and conversing with his friends. In between all of this he traveled several times to “Cajun Country,” Louisiana to enjoy all his wonderful Cajun friends. And last but not least, were all the wonderful friends he went with to the NASCAR races or his buddies he sat with at home watching his favorite racer, Earnhardt win. Our friend Dick, an ex-Marine, had a bad fall and was unable to recover. All of his friends will miss him terribly. |
