Richard “Rick” Martin, 73, of Lake Havasu City passed away 
peacefully in his home with family on Oct. 20.

Rick was born Oct. 14 in Portland, Ore. to Richard and Betty Martin, 
the oldest of three children.

Rick married his high school sweetheart, Jane, in 1962. They raised 
their two children Todd and Kim in Seattle, Wash. In 1987, they 
moved to beautiful Whidbey Island, Wash. where he owned and operated 
Microscan Inc. for many years.

Rick enjoyed NFL football, NASCAR and traveling. He loved boating 
and had a passion for fast boats that he shared with his family. It 
was this interest that brought him to Lake Havasu City in 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jane Martin, son Todd Martin, 
daughter Kim (Joe) Abellera and sister Nancy (Paul) Simmons. Rick 
was blessed with five grandchildren, Lucas and Bob Martin, Jessica, 
Ryder and Lexee Abellera. Rick’s kind heart and quick wit will be 
forever in our hearts.
