Gary L. Webb, 64, passed away Nov. 7, 2016. He was co-owner of
Atlantic Driving School, manager of Guard Force and manager of
Gretchen’s Inn.
He was born June 20, 1952 in Dover, N.J. Gary was well known and
loved in the community. Helping those in need was his passion. He
worked with the VA and most community organizations.
Gary’s true love was rally racing cars. He started in 1976. On Nov.
7, he was on his way home from the Sports Car Club of America’s 50th
anniversary gathering where he received an honorary award when he
suddenly passed away. He was the chairman for rally events from
Maine to Ohio to Virginia for 15 years. Over the years, he held many
national titles in the U.S. and Canada. Gary was the only person
ever to win the Alcan 5000 (a 5,000-mile event that goes from
Seattle, Wash. to the Arctic Circle using the road that the Ice Road
truckers use) five times.
He started Atlantic Driving School in 1985 in Maine. His first class
had 30 students and it never stopped.
Gary and his wife Glenda worked hard and played hard. Gary often
said that we “did more in a year than most people did in a
lifetime.”

Westleigh, siblings and his mother.
