| Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 <<< Early Monday morning, Nov. 7, 2016, while we were sleeping, Frank quietly left the room, careful not to disturb us. That’s the kind of man he was: gentle, caring, giving, funny, enthusiastic, energetic. He left a legacy of love and life in his wife, Susan; his children, Steve Patterson, Scott Patterson and Kathy Bruce; his grandchildren, Anthony Patterson, Missy Varavin, Lisa Patterson, Thomas Patter-on, Cory Cogley, Leslie Cogley, Aaron Bruce and Evan Bruce; his great- grandchildren, Lucia Worley and Michael Varavin; and his loving sister, Fawn Alexander. Frank was born in Spokane, Wash., on Oct.9, 1939, and moved with his family in the early 1940s to Kent, Wash., and in the 1970s returned to Spokane to live and raise his family. After the kids were grown, Frank and his wife, Susan, lived in Kingman, Ariz. for 13 years. They recently returned to the family in Spokane. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3744 in Kingman, and Aerie 2 in Spokane. Frank was an enthusiastic pool player, country music fan, a school bus and transit bus driver, sign painter and auto body man. But he will especially be remembered for the beautiful and imaginative bird houses that he designed, lovingly built, and freely gave away to family and friends. Frank was not a man to stand on ceremony, so no formal services will be held, but when you are out with friends raise a glass in his name. |
