GARIGAN, Peter "Peto" Donisi
Peter "Peto" Donisi Garigan, Nutrioso resident died April 23, 2009. He was born to Donald W. Garigan and Carmen Sue (Donisi) Garigan in Tucson Feb. 7, 1955.
He grew up on his parent's and grandparent's homestead on Tucson's eastside. Peter attended local Tucson schools and graduated from Sahuaro High School.
The rodeo was his first love; when he was young he would spend his weekends with his parents at the "Garigan's Rodeo" and they would find him on occasion sleeping with the bulls. He did a little bull riding and decided that roping was more for him, which he loved.
He worked for Ariwest Construction before a medical injury ended his career. Peto's family was the most important to him; his two girls and mother were his life. No one could have asked for a better father, son or brother.
He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle and Denise; mother Carmen; brother Michael (Marie) Garigan of Tucson; sisters Suzy (Tony) Alba of Safford, Toni (Mark) White of Nutrioso and Tina (Roger) Soderberg of Eagar; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, uncles and cousins.
Peto will be greatly missed by his family and friends, all of whom made his life very rich.
Rosary will be held Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m. at the Garigan home in Nutrioso and a Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 2, at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Alpine at 10 a.m.
