| Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ >>> Published on Friday, April 27, 2016 <<< >>> Donald Ray Kaufman <<< >>> July 19, 1934 to April 4, 2016 <<< Loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend of many passed away on April 4, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Donald was born on July 19, 1934 in Great Bend, Kan. to Ted and Hattie Kaufman. Donald and his family resided in Westminster, Calif. for 30 years and then moved to Parker, Ariz., where he resided for 25 years. He worked for Rockwell International/Boeing in California for 30 years, where he was contracted with NASA to work on the space shuttles. He was the President of the Poor Claire Guild for many years and was very active in raising money for the Poor Claire nuns while at St. Barbara’s Church in Santa Ana, Calif. He was also President of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul in Parker, where he stayed involved with raising money and helping those in need. Donald also had a great love and support of the Sisters of St. Joseph & Our Lady of Guadalupe in Gallup, N.M. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Hattie Kaufman; his brother, Darrell Kaufman; his sister-in-law, Elnora Kaufman; and his grandson, Chelsea Dillon Peters, aka Chess (1987-2007). He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy Kaufman of Parker, Ariz.; his daughters, Theresa Kaufman of Reno, Nev.; Paula Kaufman of Long Beach, Calif.; his son, Stephen Kaufman and daughter-in-law Jill Kaufman of Orange, Calif.; his sister, Kathleen Sibley of San Diego, Calif.; his brother, Kennenth Kaufman of Mississippi; and his grandchildren Jason Richardson, Cole Richardson, Schulyer Kaufman, Sadie Kaufman and Christopher Kaufman. A Rosary will be held at 9 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1101 Joshua Avenue, Parker. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m., May 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the mass there will be a gathering for a Celebration of Life at Casa Blanca, 8887 Papago Loop, in the Lake Moovalya Keys 1. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Peggy Kaufman, who is setting up a college fund for someone in need, per Donald’s wishes.
