Donald Dean Hiserodt

Donald Hiserodt died peacefully Oct. 29 following a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Algona, Iowa; was a U.S. Army vet; a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College (now University of Northern Iowa).

Don is remembered by family and friends for his life’s work in career and technical education and for his passion for the world of work.

He taught business classes at Creston Iowa high school; distributive education at PUHS in Phoenix. He became coordinator of the Manpower Development Training Act for the state of Arizona; Section Chief, U.S. Office of Education, Washington D.C. and Dean of Continuing and Vocational Education and Instructional Support at Yavapai College.

Don’s community volunteer service includes CASA; the Prescott Public Library and the Board of Directors, Yavapai Federal Credit Union.

Don is survived by wife, Barbara; children, Doug, Ted (Claudia); Meredith Keyes (Brian) and six grandchildren.
