Emile Belanger, age 88, formerly of Waterville, Maine, passed away quietly on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Legacy Rehab and Care Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. As a young man, Emile joined the United States Army in 1946, serving his country in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged in 1948. Returning home to Waterville, he married Jeannine Breard and raised a family. Besides being a husband and father, Emile was also the successful business owner of Belanger's Refrigeration Service, servicing both residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems throughout the state of Maine. He was an active member of the local American Legion, B.P.O.E., and was a volunteer firefighter. Following the passing of his wife, Jeannine, in 1991, he retired from his business and moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, where he married Frances Foote and happily settled into life in their desert community. He continued to volunteer his time at a local food bank and was a faithful communicant at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Bullhead City. Emile always loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He and Frances took many sightseeing excursions, loved going on cruises to foreign destinations, played in numerous casino tournaments, panned for gold and went boating on the Colorado River. They also enjoyed making new friends; playing cards, especially Cribbage; and sharing many "Happy Hours" together. Emile was an amazingly creative man and his hobbies included card making, stamping, woodcarving and painting, most notably making a series of HOPI Kachina Dolls. He took great pride in his abilities to fix almost anything in true Yankee fashion and most of all, loved spending and sharing quality time with family and friends. He was preceded by his parents, Napoleon Paul and Juliette (Lambert); and his first wife, Jeannine (Breard). Emile is survived by his wife, Frances Ruth (Foote) Belanger of Bullhead City; son, Paul E. Belanger of New Jersey; daughter, Gail E.
