ROGER E. RICHARDSON
Roger E. Richardson, 74, died at his home in Surprise, Arizona, on
November 12, 2016. Mr. Richardson was born in Iowa City, IA on April
20, 1942 to Dohren I. and Alice A. (Dethlefsen) Richardson, of Ida
Grove, IA.
Mr. Richardson was a 1959 graduate of Burlington High School,
Burlington, IA and then attended Burlington Junior College. He joined
the Air Force in 1962 after which he graduated from Oklahoma State
University. After completing Officer Candidate School at Lackland
AFB, TX, he served in Turkey, Spain and Viet Nam. He was also involved
in the design of the Stealth Bomber. Mr. Richardson retired from the
Air Force as a Major.
On May 3, 1965 he married Linda L. (Lichty) Bartmann in San Rafael,
CA. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2006.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a
niece, Deidre Richardson. He is survived by two brothers: Jerry
(Karen) Richardson of Pleasant View, TN and Larry (Song) Richardson of
Sperry, IA and 4 sisters: Jeannette Richardson of Sperry, IA, Pamela
(Mark) Wagler, Ft. Madison, IA; Alice (Ron) Wooldridge, Burlington, IA
and Karen (Allan) Noe, Marshalltown, IA. He is also survived by 4
nephews and 8 nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service and his body will be cremated.
