Miriam "Myra" Jacques, age 89, passed away peacefully Sunday,
November 27, 2016 at her home in Bullhead City, Arizona from a three
month struggle with Cancer. She was born on August 10, 1927, in Tel
Aviv, Israel.

Myra was a WWII British Army Veteran. She served in the North
African Theater, first assisting paramedics and drove supply trucks
for the remainder of the campaign. After the war, she married her
Sergeant, Victor Bloomfield, who played professional soccer. She ran
her own small poultry farm in rural England.

Myra moved to the U.S. and lived in Elmsford, N.Y. (1955-1961). She
loved racing midget cars in competitions held in Altoona, Penn, and
Danbury, CT. She remarried U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran, Armand
Jacques, Jr. in 1960. They moved west with her son and resided in
Reseda Calif. from 1962-1990. Myra worked at job shops for U.S.
Aerospace contractors in the Greater LA Calif. area. She fine
soldered circuit boards and assembled wiring harnesses, including
some for the space shuttles. Armand retired from General Motors
after 30 years.

They moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz. in 1990. Allan passed away in
2001 and Armand passed away in 2004. Myra met Tom Hixson at a
blackjack table in the Ramada Express (now Tropicana) in 2004 and
they lived together for nine years in Lake Havasu City, and moved to
Bullhead City in 2013.

Tom took exceptional care of Myra and she reciprocated in kindness
and was generous to him.

Myra was a well known casino player in Laughlin, NV. Her many
friends and casino workers will miss her warm hearted nature and
friendly spirit.

Myra enjoyed gambling, which included playing live poker, video
poker, and video keno. She was a formidable and fearless blackjack
player. She had steel nerves when she played marathon blackjack
sessions. When she double-downed, or other players asked her advice
on similar hands, she said: "No guts, No Glory!" Myra also enjoyed
the shows, buffets, cooking, gardening, knitting, music and dancing.
She also was a dog, cat and animal lover.

Myra was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Rachel
Mizrachi; brothers, Shmuel (Samuel), Jacob, and Nissim; sister,
Devorah (Deborah); son, Allan Bloomfield; and husband, of 44 years,
Armand Jacques, Jr.
She loved and adored her dear son, Allan. He was a talented
traveling musician and excellent bowler

She is survived by Thomas Hixson, who was her close friend,
caregiver and "gambling buddy" for the past 12 years.

Desert Lawn provided the cremation services. At her request there
will be no service.

A celebration of life will be at 3pm.-5pm (NV time), 4pm.-6pm. (AZ
time) on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in the Sante Fe Room (next to
the buffet) at the Tropicana Casino.
