Fred Louis Sabellico

Fred Louis Sabellico, 85, passed away Dec. 7, 2016.

He was born Dec. 29, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey to Fred and Ida
Sabellico.

Fred served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for 21 years,
stationed in Korea, Vietnam, Germany and Japan. After his honorable
discharge in 1969, Fred joined U.S. Customs at JFK Airport, where he
met his wife Anita.

They were married May 30, 1971 and moved to California in 1974,
where Fred continued to work for U.S. Customs, first as an inspector
at San Francisco Airport, then in drug enforcement at the waterfront
and mail branch in Oakland, Calif.

In 1987, Fred and Anita retired to travel the country in their RV.
After finding Lake Havasu City, they decided to make it their home.
Fred enjoyed fishing, first with Anita in their boat and later at
Site 6, where he had many friends. Fred was a lifetime member of the
VFW. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Fred is survived by Anita Sabellico, his beloved wife of 45 years,
daughters Theresa Sabellico and Gina Metchkanski, grandson Anthony
Hansen, brothers Robert and Louis Sabellico, sister Arlene (Patrick)
Barbarito as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ida Sabellico,
sister Marlene Barbarito and sisters-in-law Connie and Barbara
Sabellico.

Graveside services and inurnment will be in March at Lake Havasu
Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by the Marine
Corps League.

Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and
Crematory, veteran and family-owned.
