Nancy Alice (Thompson) DeWitt

Nancy Alice DeWitt, age 78, of Snowflake, AZ passed away unexpectedly while on a long overdue vacation in Tacoma, WA on December 8, 2016. She was born on July 18, 1938 to Cullen Edward Thompson and Grace Christina Simmons Thompson in Oak Creek, CO.

Nancy married the love of her life, Dan Terry DeWitt, on July 20, 1958. They were sealed for time and eternity in 1960 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mesa, AZ Temple. Nancy was an active member there and had many church callings. She went to beauty school then worked at Diamonds as a Beautician. She also worked for the public school system for over 20 years.

She had many interests including: puzzles, family history, Genealogy, and travel. Cooking, sewing, crafting and gardening were among her many talents. Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; and will be remembered by her service to others and her kind, loving heart.

Nancy is survived by her daughters: Dalane DeWitt of Tacoma, WA and DeeAnn (Chris) Medaglia of Avondale, AZ; sisters: Janet Langston and Glenda Slover; brother-in-law: Larry DeWitt of Prescott, AZ as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: Dan T. DeWitt; parents: Cullen and Grace Thompson and a brother: Lester Thompson.

A viewing will be on Friday December 16, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor, AZ. The funeral service will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Main Street Chapel in Snowflake, AZ at 11:00 am.

Interment will be at the Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, AZ.
