Mary "Katy" Weible

Mary Catherine "Katy" Weible, age 89, passed away December 17, 2016 at her home in Wickenburg, Az.

She was born December 28, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to James McNellis and Mary Comstock McNellis. She attended schools there and later married Robert Weible in 1944 in Yuma, Arizona. They made their home in the Los Angeles, Ca. area. Bob was serving in the Military at that time from 1944 to 1946. Katy worked as a manager for The Broadway stores. Bob went to work in Alaska as an ironworker in 1952 and they commuted back and forth until 1962 when Katy moved to Alaska to join him.

In 1963 they moved to Arizona settling in Wickenburg. Together they owned and operated the Union Oil Distributorship here in Wickenburg. Katy was a member of the Soroptimists Club and the Lioness Auxiliary.

She and Bob were members of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. They were also instrumental in establishing the St. Vincent de Paul Society Branch here in Wickenburg. They have been active in St. Vincent's many years until the present.

Katy is survived by her husband Robert of Wickenburg and special friends: Mary Guinan and Sandra Monroe & Diane Alessi, nieces and nephews: Mary Catherine, Bob & Linda Gross, Joe & Patty Cattel and Judy & Dick O'Connor.

She was preceded in death by brothers in law: James, Thomas and William Weible and a sister in law Peggy Ann.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with inurnment at the St. Anthony Columbarium.
