Nita Sue Hyslip went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ surrounded by loved ones on Dec. 7, 2016.

A native of Arizona, born in Buckeye to Gail and Francis Hodge, August 29, 1939, Nita came to call Bagdad her hometown. She spent several years in Bagdad, graduating from high school there in 1958.

In 1974, Nita became a member of the Humboldt Bible Church where she actively taught Sunday School, and served as an AWANA youth ministry leader for 16 years. Her faithful service to the Lord and His people continued throughout her entire life.

She loved and was loved by family and friends, and had a very special affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her graceful, quiet, unassuming spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Nita is survived by her husband Wig Hyslip; her son Bill (Jody) Hyslip; her daughter Kelly (Bryon) Goswick; her brothers Clark (Bobbie) Hodge, Sid (Jane) Hodge; her sisters Sarah Williams, and Linda Hodge; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws; and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 16, 10 a.m. at the Humboldt Bible Church, 2500 Old Black Canyon Highway.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nita’s memory may be made to the Humboldt Bible Church AWANA fund via the Givelify app or by check to P.O. Box 296, Humboldt, AZ 86329
