O'BOYLE, Daniel

Arizona Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, September 1, 1897, page 1, column 4 Daniel O'Boyle's Death (From Monday's Daily) Another of the pioneer miners of this section has 'crossed the divide' and has been called to his reward. About three o'clock Sunday afternoon Dan O'Boyle died at his residence in south Prescott after an Illness of only a few days. The first that was generally known by the public of his illness was yesterday morning when his physician reported his condition critical. He was suffering from stomach trouble and at that time his heart showed great weakness and signs of failure entirely. H. A. Owens and others of his old time friends were with him and nursed him during his last illness and everything was done for him that could be done, but to no avail. Deceased had resided in the territory for about twenty-five years and has been engaged in mining. He has at different times made sales and with the proceeds he has developed other properties, and at the time of his death was half owner in a group of what are considered very valuable claims only eight miles from Prescott. He was also a member of the Grand Army of the Republic having served in the war of the rebellion. Transcriber's note: Mr. O'Boyle is buried in the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
