Joan Blackhall, 74, a resident of Lake Havasu City, passed away at
home Dec. 30.

Joan was born in 1942 in Cleveland and grew up on a farm in the
rural village of Grafton. She married Charles Miller and had two
daughters, Heather and Holly. The family moved to Havasu in 1984.
Joan divorced and remarried in 1995 and relocated to Harrah, Okla.
She recently returned to Havasu after retiring from a long career as
a lab technician and registered phlebotomist.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Helen
Blackhall.

She is survived by her brother Stewart Blackhall Jr., her two
daughters and two grandsons, Devon and Cash.

Joan was fun-loving, outgoing and young at heart. She lived and
loved to the fullest and had an adventurous spirit. She was
intelligent, witty and a voracious reader. She connected with many
other Blackhalls on a Facebook genealogy page and thrilled at the
Highland Games, bagpipes and all things Scottish. She enjoyed craft
beers and good food and loved to travel. She often explored the
desert watching for a glimpse of her beloved hawks and picking up
interesting rocks.

Joan danced to the beat of her own drum and her friendly, open
personality drew people to her. She was kind and loyal and a friend
to all. She will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future. For more
information on that and/or to express thoughts and condolences,
