| Prescott Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, October 16, 1912, page 2, column 4 Is Electrocuted At Chandler Plant (From Thursday's Daily) Telephone messages from Tempe yesterday brought the sad news that Neddie B. Eckel, son of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Eckel, of Fair Oaks has been electrocuted. Mr. Eckel at the time of his misfortune was at Chandler, but a short distance from Tempe, where he was in charge of the electric plant which is used for propelling power machinery, pumping service, and for lighting purposes. The current is furnished from the Roosevelt dam, and reaches 11,000 volts as the minimum capacity. No information was given of the manner in which he had been electrocuted. He was known in electrical engineering circles as a very careful operator, and had been in charge of the big plant for the past three months. His father happened to be in the city yesterday from Fair Oaks, and left last evening on the train for Chandler, to care for his son's body. Mrs. Eckel is at Fair Oaks, and will be advised today of the accident which has overtaken her son. According to a dispatch received by the Journal-Miner late last evening from the bereaved father, the funeral will take place in this city Transcriber's note: Mr. Eckel is buried in the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
