Max Allen “Smokey” Meyers, 79, born Nov. 20, 1937, left to be with
our Lord Jan. 13, 2017.

He is survived by his wife Sally Meyers, daughters Debbie (Larry),
Linda (Noe), Julie (Al), Carol (Danny), son JJ (Kacey), 12
grandkids, 11 great-grandkids, and too many nieces and nephews to
count.

Born to Silas and Fern Meyers in Woodward, Okla., he grew up as a
real cowboy. Raised on his family ranch, he branded cattle, rode as
an amateur rodeo rider and learned the meaning of hard work.

After graduating high school, he went to Oklahoma City College and
received a degree in electrical engineering. He met the love of his
life, Sally Chiaramonte, in 1971 and married her in 1976. They lived
in Lancaster, Calif. where they both worked for Northrop Corporation
at Edwards Air Force Base. Smokey worked as a flight test engineer
for 25 years.

Following retirement, Smokey and Sally moved to Lake Havasu City.
Smokey enjoyed cooking, hunting, RV traveling, barbecuing and
fishing. He was an active member of Havasu Elks Fishing Club and a
great story teller who entertained everyone with his stories, old
and new. A genuine family man, Smokey will forever be missed. For
many, life will never be the same.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Keta, grandson Larry
Elliot III and great-grandson Madix Gregory.

Services are Jan. 28 in Flagstaff, at The Nativity of the Blessed
Mary, 16 W. Cherry St. The rosary is at 10 a.m., the service at 11
a.m. and a reception follows.

Special thanks to Hospice of Havasu and Lake Havasu Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lake Havasu Elks No.
2399 or Hospice of Havasu.
