Janice Harmon passed away at home November 29th after battling cancer for several years.

Born in San Diego and raised in Phoenix, Jan raised her own family in and around the Verde Valley, where many will remember her as a cosmetologist at area salons. She truly loved her work, and often talked about how special it was for her to help people look and feel their best through both the happiest and most difficult times in their lives.

Her clients and fellow stylists were among her closest friends. Jan never allowed cancer to prevent her from continuing to live her life. Her positive attitude and commitment to keeping busy afforded her more time with her family and friends as she bravely endured cancer treatment.

She enjoyed oil painting and sewing, and was never without a project of some kind in the works. Jan lived simply, loved the mountains, and cherished her years of rural living at Stoneman Lake, AZ.

Jan is survived by her sister Sharon Walsh of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and by her daughters Magi VanCleave and Molly Harmon, both of Flagstaff; who have many wonderful memories of their Mother and will continue to be inspired by her in the years to come.

Share your memories of Jan with friends and family between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th at the Up the Creek Grill 1975 N Page Springs Rd, Cornville, AZ 86325.
