Charlotte was born Sept. 5, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes. ------------------------------ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, February 5, 2017, page 7a Charlotte Ann Holden Smallsreed Tarr, AKA “Momma Char,” died of natural causes on Jan. 16, 2017, in Prescott, Arizona. Born Sept. 5, 1919, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Char formerly resided in Scottsdale where she and first husband, Rev. Lee J. Smallsreed Jr., founded Scottsdale Congregational United Church of Christ prior to his death. Second husband, John S. (Jack) Tarr, Esq., also preceded her in death. D evoted mother to Lee III, Tim, Mark and Susan, step-mother to Sara and John Jr., and grandma to numerous grand and great grandchildren, Char was an accomplished organist and soloist, secretary, minister’s wife, weaver, knitter, lover of the cabin at Belly Acres, hospital volunteer and friend. She will be missed. A memorial on April 9, 2017, at 2 p.m. will be at First Congregational Church, Gurley Street, Prescott, Arizona. NO Flowers.
