| Prescott Morning Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Saturday, September 7, 1901, page 3, column 2 Local Intelligence - George White died in the county hospital at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. He is the colored man who was shot by Lee Townsend on Thursday morning last. -------------------------------- Arizona Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, September 11, 1901, page 3, column 2 (From Thursday's Daily) George White, who was shot in the stomach, Wednesday night by Townsend, died this morning at the county hospital, as a result of the bullet wound. ------------------------------- Arizona Daily Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory September 7, 1901 The funeral of the late Geo White, the unfortunate colored man who was murdered recently in this city, occurred Saturday, Rev. Lewis officiating at the services. A trio of his male friends discoursed music at the grave, and a large number of people followed the remains to their last home. The deceased bore an excellent name among all, and his tragic death is very much deplored. Transcriber's note: Mr. White is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
