| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, February 9, 2017 <<< Shirley Ann Carleton, 78, of Lake Havasu City died peacefully at home Feb. 3, 2017 surrounded by her family. Born March 26, 1938 in Huntington Park, California, she was the daughter of Oda and Louise Greenstreet. A graduate of Southgate High School, she met the love of her life, Bob Carleton, at school. Shirley and Bob wed on March 25, 1956. The couple had two daughters and one son, creating a happy, loving family. Bob and Shirley were married for 63 years. She was a member of the Elks Lodge Yacht Club 2399, the Elkettes and the Outcasts Car Club. She retired from bookkeeping in 1995. Her free hours were spent enjoying time with family and friends. Shirley loved to travel, play cards and entertain. Her family said she was an excellent hostess, a good listener and a great friend. She was genuine, kind and uplifting. She will be missed. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughters Cathy Bilger of Havasu and Rhonda Cataldi of Las Vegas, son Robert Carleton of Alaska, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Shirley’s service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2671 Poseidon Dr. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley’s name can be given to Hospice of Havasu. |
