Everett Warnock, 80, was born in Poplar, Montana, to Lyle F. and Olive E. Warnock on Sept. 17, 1936, and passed away Jan. 30, 2017, in Prescott, Arizona.

He was almost a native of Arizona as his family moved to Parker, Arizona, when he was 3 months old. His family moved to Coolidge, Arizona, when he started high school where he met the love of his life, Lenora Slater. They were married June 22, 1957.

Everett completed his BS in Agricultural Engineering at California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, California, in 1958. His career path included positions in Wisconsin, upstate New York and Michigan.

A move back to Arizona began at the end of 1988 when Everett and Lenora bought Craftsman Woodworking, in Prescott, which he managed for 10 years before retiring.

Everett was a true Arizonan at heart, as he loved the outdoor beauty and ruggedness of the state as a boy and throughout his life. He was fond of hiking, exploring nature as an ardent traveler, outdoorsman and golfer. He was one of those individuals that could be counted on as a husband, father, citizen, and friend in any endeavor he undertook. His family always admired the vitality with which he pursued life to the fullest.

Beyond traveling he enjoyed volunteering in his community. He was active in Sunup Rotary, Trinity Presbyterian Church and Hidden Valley Ranch. For his Firewise effort he was named volunteer of the year 2013. In the Prescott Area Wildland Urban Interface Commission (PAWUIC) he served as chairman 2006-2008. In 2016, the Hidden Valley Ranch Board of Directors renamed Water Tank Hill to Everett Warnock Hill, for which he was truly humbled.

Everett is survived by Lenora his wife of 60 years; daughter Nancy Ford; son Christopher; grandchildren Amanda and John Ford; brothers Lyle F. Jr., John, David; and sister Sue Warnock-Brooks.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., on March 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a contribution to the Granite Mountain Hospice, (3107 Clearwater Dr. Prescott, AZ 86305) or PAWUIC (PO 11085, Prescott, AZ 86304) or Trinity Presbyterian Church (630 Park Ave. Prescott, AZ 86303).
