| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Friday, March 3, 2017 <<< Carl F. Henke, 84, was called home to Heaven on Feb. 27, 2017 to be with our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. He was surround by family and his loving wife in Lake Havasu City. On Feb. 23, 1933, Carl was born in Albion, Michigan, where he was also raised. Preceeded in death by his parents Herbert and Ellen Henke; sisters Jean Lynch and Patricia Stowe and brothers James Henke and William Henke. His sister Mary Jo Green is his surviving sibling. Carl joined the United States Air Force’s Strategic Air Command, Barksdale Airforce Base, Louisiana. He was on active duty June 1952 to June 1956 and served in the Reserve June 1956 to June 1960. Carl met and married Patricia Williams in Oil City, Louisiana in 1955. They raised three children: Larry, Kathy and Teresa. The family lived in Santa Ana and Westminster, California. Patricia died Aug. 2, 1986. Carl met Lillian in 1987 at a dance studio in California where they fell in love and became best friends. Carl and Lillian married April 16, 1988. He became a proud stepfather to Lori, Gary, Cheri, Michael and Patty. They resided in Huntington Beach, Calif. for 10 years before retiring to Lake Havasu City in 1998. He was a grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Carl is survived by his loving wife Lillian of 29 years. A celebration of life service is 3 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Hilltop Community Church, 3180 N. McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City.
