| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Friday, March 10, 2017 <<< >>> March 2, 1940 - Feb. 26, 2017 <<< Rosalind (Roz) Winsko, daughter of Dewey and Iva Rose Mayes, was born in Marshall, Texas. She married Kenneth Richard Nelson, now deceased. When she moved to San Clemente, she was a Realtor and physician’s assistant. In 1982, she married Gerald (Gerry) J. Winsko, who survives. She also is survived by a sister Royce Mayes, brother Clayton Mayes, sons Stephen Nelson and Scott Nelson, daughter-in law Danielle Nelson, granddaughter Taylor Nelson, and grandson Dane Nelson. In 2002, Roz and Gerry retired in Lake Havasu City. She briefly worked in part-time jobs during their first few years and was a member of the Western Welcome Club and the Crafts Club at the Aquatic Center. Roz joined B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 2399 and was a Yacht Club member for more than 10 years. Roz and Gerry graduated from the LHC Citizens Police Academy and served as neighborhood watch members after graduating. As a breast cancer survivor, Roz continued to donate her time and bottle creations to Western Welcome charities in the community, even during her declining health. |
