| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, April 18, 2000, page 5a Dormand (Bob) Sanders, 74, of Prescott Valley, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, in Phoenix. He was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Mingus, Texas to Calvin and Elva (Maynard) Sanders. Mr. Sanders served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a welder at the Cyprus Bagdad Copper Mine from 1946 until his retirement in 1984. He married Barbara Jean Synes on Sept. 19, 1949, in Prescott. He enjoyed reading, watching TV westerns and gardening. His family knew him as a devoted husband, father and friend. Survivors include his wife Barbara Jean; son, Don of Bagdad, daughter, Debra Schmidt of Kennewick, Wash.; brothers Glynn of Hixson, Texas, Doyle of Granbury, Texas; sisters, Paula Fern and Margie Ree, both of Joshua, Texas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Funeral Home, with Pastor James Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Gardens, Dewey. The family suggests memorial contributions to Arizona Kidney Foundation, 4019 N. 44th St., Phoenix, Az., 85018. Sunrise Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements. |
