George R. Gruden, 93, passed away Feb. 27, 2017, in Wickenburg.

George was born in Brownsdale, Penn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII a survivor of the "Omaha the Bloody."

He was a truck driver for years and most recently an apartment manager before retiring. He wrote his own obituary and this is what George penned: "George R. Gruden died. He survived Omaha the Bloody, but he didn't survive today. The clock went tic...but no tock, the piper is now paid in full. There will be no services."

Interment with military honors was held March 6 at Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
