Virgil William Gregg, 86, of Scottsdale, a retired elementary-school teacher, died Jan. 16, 1997. He was born in Quitaque, Texas, and was a World War II Coast Guard veteran. 

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters, Barbara Wilson and Cheryl English; son, Ronald; and four grandchildren. 

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. 

Services: 9 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
