David J. Mitchell of Lake Havasu City passed away unexpectedly at
the young age of 53.

Born in Downey, California to John and Sharon Mitchell, Dave
participated in wrestling and football in high school and became an
Eagle Scout. Ever since he was young, he loved all things about
motorcycles, both working on them and riding them. There was nothing
he couldn’t do when it came to bikes.

After high school, Dave enlisted in the United States Army. He was
stationed in Panama working as a mechanic on Chinook helicopters.
After returning from the Army, he continued his mechanic inclination
by working on helicopters at Los Alamedas in Southern California.

Dave later began visiting Lake Havasu City to enjoy the boating and
desert lifestyle. He finally became a full-time resident. In 1996,
he and Mary Roberts became the proud parents of their son, Gunner
Mitchell. From that day forward, his life revolved around his son,
camping, boating, and teaching him the love of motorcycles. Many
weekends were spent together and a favorite was “Mitchell Dunes,”
his own private sand dunes in the California desert.

In all the fun, Dave always made sure that his son had anything he
needed and was always there no matter what. He truly was a kind,
generous and loving father.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sharon Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving son Gunner Mitchell of Lake Havasu
City, caring sister Mimi Gransden of Claremont, Calif., kind sister
Wendy Mitchell of Crestline, Calif., dearest cousin Heidi Madris of
Glendora, Calif. and many, many good friends that he holds dearly.

A celebration of life is at the Lake Havasu Association of Realtors,
2293 Swanson Ave., Sunday, April 23, 2-4:30 p.m. Please RSVP to
GunnerJMitchell@gmail.com.
