Premature Explosion

Sam Lively, a well known miner, of this county, was killed last evening in the B. B. mine, in Cherry creek, owned by the Pfan Gold Mining company, of which C. K. Tibbett is the superintendent. No further particulars of the accident were learned.

Lively formerly worked for the Penn Gold Mining company and had worked also in the McCabe district for several years and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge and will be buried under the auspices of that order.

He leaves a wife and several children who have been residing in Oak creek. Deceased was between 45 and 50 years old.

A wagon was sent out for the body, which was expected to reach Cherry station on the Prescott & Eastern road today in time to have it brought to Prescott on the regular train on that road. Failure to do so the body was brought to Prescott by wagon but did not reach here until late this afternoon.

The wife and children of deceased are expected to arrive on tonight's train from the north, and the funeral, which will be conducted by the Workman's lodge, has been set for tomorrow Thursday afternoon at three o'clock.

Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited.

Transcriber's note: Mr. Lively is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
