| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, April 26, 2017, page 7a Ray Morris Scribner, born Sept. 29, 1933, in Ramsey, Illinois, passed away April 21, 2017, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Arrangements by Affordable Burial & Cremation, LLC. ------------------------------- The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, July 16, 2017, pages 7a & 8a Ray Morris Scribner, 83, passed away April 21, 2017, surrounded by family. Born to Northcutt and Alice Scribner, in Ramsey, Illinois, Sept. 28, 1933. His family moved to Laramie, Wyoming, in 1940, where he lived until he joined the Air Force, March 1953. After training, he was stationed at Edwards AFB, where he taught instrument flying until his discharge in March 1957. He moved to Prescott, Arizona, in 1958, worked as a carpenter and met and married his wife, Sophiamae, of 57 + years, at the old American Lutheran Church, in Prescott. He loved people and loved working with the people at the Yavapai Food Bank. Ray is survived by sons, Ray II, Scott and Tom (Skip); daughters, Brenda, RaeAnn and Kathy; 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Military services will be in the Chapel, at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care, on Highway 89, in Prescott, on July 29, 2017, at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow from noon to 3 p.m. with luncheon, at Valley View Clubhouse, on Windsong Drive in Prescott Valley. Anyone who knew Ray and would like to attend the services, is welcome. Information provided by survivors. |
