Lewis G. Taylor, born Jan. 3, 1919, in Huntington, West Virginia, died April 20, 2017, at the young age of 98.

He is survived by his son, Lynn (Sully) D. Sullins, and his daughter, Victoria N. Schutte, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a WW II Veteran in Europe, and received five Bronze battle stars. He moved to Phoenix in 1945 to take care of his parents after the war. He then married his lovely wife Leona in September of 1952, when she moved to Phoenix from Oklahoma with Lynn (Sully) and Victoria.

He worked for Reynolds Aluminum for 23 years before retiring. Then in 1981, Lewis and Leona moved to Prescott. Often you could find Lewis and his friends at the Prescott Mall having coffee and solving all the world’s problems. This became quite an event every Saturday, with lots of friends joining in.

He was a wonderful God-fearing man, funny, kind, loved by everyone that knew him; he will be missed forever! We take peace in the fact that he is in heaven with Jesus and his wife Leona.

Funeral services will be Friday April 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez, Prescott, Arizona. He will be laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park with full military honors.
