Sad Ending Of A Young Wife and Mother

Body Of Mrs. E. S. Green Found Cold In Death

Goes Into The Hills To Bid Farewell To Life

The corpse of Mrs. E. S. Green, wife of the manager of the Yavapai Club, lies in the Maus undertaking parlors, having been found in the rocks north of town late last night. She was missed yesterday evening, when her husband returned to his apartments in the Callery House, and found a note bidding him goodbye, and ending with the words, 'I blame no one'. The horrified husband communicated the news to some friends, and a searching party was organized, and several hours later the body was found lying among the rocks across the creek, with the head and arm resting upon a newspaper.

The unfortunate woman, who was only 22 years, has been in extreme poor health for the past four years, and it was with the object of benefiting it that Mr. Green recently removed here from California. Despondent over her condition, there is no doubt that she was temporarily insane when the idea of self-destruction entered her head, as indicated by the note she left behind.

As the body was not brought to the morgue until 2 o'clock this morning, the cause of death will be determined definitely at the coroner's inquest this morning.

It is an extremely sad and pitiful case, and the heart of the community will go out to the grief-stricken husband and his young son. No couple were ever more Haily married than Mr. and Mrs. Green, and those who have known them for years past have commented upon their devotion to each other. Under such circumstances the blow falls extremely heavy upon the bereaved husband, who is prostrated with grief.

Transcriber's note: Mrs. Green is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
