Prescott Weekly Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Friday, May 3, 1901, page 4, column 1 (From Thursday's Daily) Ben Grant died suddenly of a hemorrhage while sitting in a chair in the Palace Saloon Tuesday evening past. He was about 50 years of age. His funeral took place from Logan's undertaking parlors yesterday at 4 p.m. He came to Prescott from Phoenix about two weeks ago. -------------------------------------- Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, May 8, 1901, page 3, column 4 Ben Grant, an old time and well known faro player in the west, died of hemorrhage in the Palace saloon last night. He was sitting in a chair talking when he felt the hemorrhage coming on and called for some salt, but by the time it reached him he was spitting blood very fast, and Dr. McGinnis was summoned. He arrived in a few moments and did all he could do. Transcriber's note: Mr. Grant is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
