| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Monday, May 8, 2017 <<< >>> July 11, 1943 - May 1, 2017 <<< Carl Sparkman, 73, went home to Jesus on May 1, 2017. Words cannot express our profound sense of loss, but we draw comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord. Carl was a U.S. Navy veteran, amazingly talented musician, a brilliant machinist, and a loyal and respected friend. He was a beloved husband, father and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Lorraine Sparkman. Carl is survived by his beloved wife Ruby, daughter Susan Sanborn, and brother David Robert Winston. Carl truly treasured all of his friends. A clipping in the newspaper cannot come close to honoring the life and memory of a man who lived his life so fully. He could truly say he had no regrets. He loved to be out on the road with the wind in his hair and Ruby, his life partner of 50 years whom he cherished, by his side. We will be enjoying the music of Sidewinder in his honor at the Flying X on Thursday, May 11, 6:30-10:30 p.m. Our celebration of Carl’s life is Saturday, May 13 at State Beach, 2-5 p.m. The family thanks all of the people who have helped care for Carl’s needs over the past 10 years. We have been blessed to receive wonderful care from true angels. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a veteran organization or hospice. |
