James “Pete” Schrage passed away April 26, 2017.

Pete, as he was lovingly nicknamed as a kid, was born in Burbank,
California March 2, 1929, one of four children born to Fred and
Dorothy Schrage.

Pete lived in Burbank until he married his wife, Gladys, in 1948.
They moved to Glendale, Calif., where they raised their family.
Pete’s career as a construction manager brought them to Lake Havasu
City in 1992, their final residence.

Pete and Gladys were the proud parents of three children: Susie
(Johannes), Jim and Jeff. They were grandparents of eight and great-
grandparents of four. Pete was preceded to Heaven by Gladys (2012),
Susie (2012) and Jeff (2014).

Pete loved his wife dearly, comforting her for many years as she
battled multiple illnesses. All the while, he continued to do what
he loved -- construction – which he finally gave up at age 84. He is
responsible for the building of millions of square feet of new and
remodeled buildings, commercial and residential alike – creating
space for thousands of individuals to live, work and play.

The impact Pete made as a son, husband, father, friend and co-worker
on his family, friends and even those unknown to him will never be
forgotten. In fact, to a one, those that visited him at the end of
his life on Earth reminded him of the wonderful life he led, always
putting himself last and wearing his love on his sleeve.

Pete lived for his family, loved travel and sports and was a quick
wit to the end. As he wished, let’s celebrate!
