| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 <<< Robert “Bob” Lee Vaughn, 86, of Lake Havasu City passed away on May 1, 2017. He was born April 20, 1931 in Los Angeles to Robert and Elizabeth Vaughn. Bob grew up in Burbank, California where he attended and graduated from high school. He then decided he wanted to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1949 to 1954. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he went on to become a lineman for the company MA Bell and retired after 30 years. Bob loved to go fishing, boating, playing cards, and enjoyed carving special mementos for friends, family members and even for himself. Bob was a member of the Elks and also the VFW. He married Bonnie Monroe Vaughn after 27 years on July 15, 2016 in Lake Havasu City. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Vaughn, and son Thomas Vaughn. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Monroe Vaughn; sons Richard Vaughn of Van Nuys, California, Robert Vaughn of San Bernardino, David Monroe of Reno, Nevada, and Jeff Monroe, of Tehachapi, California; daughters Laurie Josett, Dorene Kolb of Edmonds, Washington, and Randi Nickoloff of Yakima, Washington; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Havasu. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
