| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 <<< Robert “Two Rod Bob” Zimmer, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on April 13, 2017 at age 92. He was born on August 26, 1924 in Waucoma, Iowa to parents, John and Florence Zimmer. While enlisted in the Army, Bob attended officer candidate school and other training through the armed forces and became a guided missile instructor. He met and married Audrey in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on December 7, 1951. They enjoyed the married life and had three children. He resided in Wisconsin, Colorado, Germany, Oklahoma, Texas and New Jersey, just to name some of the places he called home. They couple finally settled in Lake Havasu City in 1998. Robert enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating on the lake, traveling, and camping. He loved his kids, loved his grandkids and was funny, had a big heart, and was a great Dad. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence Zimmer; siblings, Gordon, Paul, Neal, Jerry, Jack, and Donnie Zimmer; grandson, Blake A. Cochran. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Audrey Zimmer; daughters, Mary Ann Justus, Garnet Loya, and Betty Jean Cochran; brothers, Sherman and Richard Zimmer; sisters, Kay Varrander and Shirley James; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
