| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, May 3, 2017, page 6a Larry Sharp, age 57, of Prescott, Arizona, died gracefully at his home with his family by his side, after a short illness. Larry, “The Captain,” was known by many for his love of pirates, Batman, libraries, dances, Christmas music and videos. Larry was born in Golden, Colorado, to Natalie and Jim Sharp. He attended Elwyn Institute in Pennsylvania. Larry worked for 33 years in sheltered workshops in Palm Desert, California, Tucson, Arizona, and Ventura, California. For the last 13 years he worked at Yavapai Exceptional Industries of Prescott, Arizona. He enjoyed his best years at YEI working on contracts from Ruger and other local businesses. Larry participated in Special Olympics for over 30 years. He was very proud of the medals he won in Track and Bowling. Larry is survived by his mother, Natalie Forbes; sister Jane; nephew Jarod; sister Maggie (Don) Jensen and their family, Donald, Selena, Lewie, DeeAnn and Sarah. A memorial for family and friends it to be announced. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to YEI for improvements to the employee lunch room; YEI, 436 N. Washington Ave., Prescott, AZ 86301. “See you in the morning.” |
