Clarabelle Smith, 82, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away July 4, 2005. Born
in Johnstown, PA, July 23, 1922 to Frank M and Della (Cunningham)
Hayes.
Married to Walter in 1945, she spent her early married life in Erie,
PA and moved to Phoenix in 1970 where she worked in the gift wrap
departments at Goldwater's and Joske's department stores.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; daughters Phyllis (Mrs.
Ronald) Chase, of Sun Lakes AZ; Claudia (Mrs. Frank) Cucitro of
Black Canyon City, AZ; Darlene (Mrs. Frank) Germano of Willoughby
Hills, OH; brother William Hayes of Allentown, PA; sister Grace
Griffith of Phoenix; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles
and Frank Hayes, sisters Marian Parker and Virginia Schuster, and
daughter Colleen Rae.
Memorial service will be held Saturday July 9 at 2pm at Shepherd of
the Valley United Methodist Church, 3039 W Cactus Road, Phoenix.
