D8 Ralph Moran, who died Wednesday after a long bout with cancer, finally reached his elusive goal of 200 football coaching victories when his Wickenburg team beat Orme the first week of this season. It was an honorary victory, since Moran was too ill to coach the tram in person. He had been trying to win that 200th game since 1982. It probably didn't matter, anyway. Moran could have died with 199 wins or 10 and it wouldn't have taken away from his accomplishments. Everyone who was associated with him knew he was a credit to his profession. The numbers aren't important. Funeral services for Moran are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Wickenburg. See Also: Find A Grave |
